Pallweber pocket watches show large numbers of hours and minutes on a rotating display. However, the time for such an innovation seemed too avant-garde at the time: the watch sold well for a while and then faded out of sight for a few years to come. Celebrating the brand's anniversary, IWC pays tribute to the Schaffhausen watchmakers for their special edition of the 150th Anniversary of IWC Tribute to Pallweber (Model 5050).  In order to create IWC 94200-made self-movement, watch designers developed a patented new solutions to match the digital display on the technical requirements of a very high. Previous Pallweber Pocket Watch Discs were driven with open gears and the one-minute dial of this movement was powered by a separate wheel system with a proprietary barrel. The release mechanism connected to the watch's own wheel system is released every 60 seconds and then re-locked. One minute after 10 minutes the disc will drive the ten-minute disc and switch to the next position. Every 60 minutes, the hour wheel jumps to the next hour's number. The power of the display wheel system alone will not affect conventional wheel train systems, ensuring precise operation and high power reserve for 60 hours. Like the previous Pallweber pocket-watch, the display was driven by a link mechanism with a star wheel (Geneva drive) and could be moved relatively easily forward or backward by the crown.
